Cru Campus

Hawai'i Cru leaders are excited for the journey your student will embark on as they join our Ohana ('family' in Hawaiian). Hawai'i Cru is a community that seeks to love God and hopes to create a space where students can do life together. Your student will walk side by side other college students who are discovering more of who God is and how He plays a part in everyday life.  All that Hawai'i Cru does points towards the vision we have that students will get to Explore Christ, Experience Christ and be Equipped to share Christ when they leave UH Manoa.

Hawai'i Cru is a ministry of Cru (formerly Campus Crusades for Christ) a Christian organization founded by Bill and Vonette Bright in 1951 on the UCLA Campus to "fulfill the Great Commission in the power of the Holy Spirit by winning people to faith in Jesus Christ, building them in their faith and sending them to win and build others; and helping the Body of Christ do evangelism and discipleship."1 Since 1951, thousands of Cru movements have started on college campuses across the nation and in the 1970s made it's way to the islands where the movement began on O'ahu at the UH Manoa campus. Since then, thousands of students lives have been changed and impacted. We pray that your student's life is also impacted by Christ as they join our Hawai'i Cru community.

"Cru has been on campuses for over 60 years, helping students come to know Jesus, grow in their faith and then go to their families, their communities and all over the world to tell others about God’s love.

If you look for Cru on [any] campus, you’ll find a community of people who care deeply about one another and who are excited about helping others know Jesus. You’ll find opportunities to get involved in all kinds of ministry on campus and around the world. You’ll find people trying hard to reflect the love and grace they have experienced through Christ. You won’t find people who are perfect- just passionate."2

Our prayer is that your student's life becomes transformed as they grow deeper in love with Christ through Cru community, events, Bible studies and the services they will be exposed to during their journey in college.
